A business website, a WordPress project and a custom application need different foundations. Compare the hosting approaches below before choosing your plan.
Explore the current options
cPanel Hosting
Website hosting with a familiar control panel for day-to-day management.
One-click installation tools
Daily backups listed across the current plans
Plans with different website, database and storage allowances
Before you choose: SSL inclusions vary by plan; compare the current plan details.
A virtual private server for projects that need server-level access and configuration control.
Full root access
SSD storage
Self-managed options with different CPU and memory allocations
Before you choose: Operating system and control-panel availability vary. Self-managed hosting requires server administration skills; do not assume hands-on management is included.
Match the plan to your website software, storage, traffic and management needs. Check what is included before purchasing extra security or backup services. Keep your existing hosting active until a move has been tested.
Moving an existing website
This checklist replaces the old hosting-transfer guide’s outdated control-panel instructions. Moving your website, transferring domain registration and moving email are separate tasks; you do not necessarily need to do all three.
Confirm that the new plan supports your website software, databases, storage and security requirements.
Make a recoverable backup of site files and databases. Record the existing DNS settings and identify who hosts your email.
Follow the new provider’s current migration instructions. Transfer files and databases securely, then configure the application and HTTPS.
Use the provider’s supported preview method to check pages, images, links and essential transactions before changing the public website destination.
Change only the records needed for the website. Keep store, email and other service records intact unless those services are intentionally being migrated too.
Verify the public site and email after the change. Keep the old hosting and a rollback option until the move is confirmed; do not cancel them simply because a new plan was purchased.
For help planning the move, contact Fundy Tech. For plan-specific procedures, use support through your hosting account.
